Fish for halibut in Ketchikan with this specialty fishing charter! These challenging fish are great for the experienced angler, but our captain and crew are excited to help new fishers learn the halibut fishing’s ins and outs. This trip allows one halibut per person (limit regulations), and all boats must carry the permit to fish for this species, so if everyone on the ship catches their limit, we can fish for salmon if time permits!
We are US Coast Guard certified to carry a maximum of six guests per charter boat. With limited space per vessel, all seats are sold on an individual basis. We have group discounts available — Call 1-907-225-7291 for details and book early.
It’s not worth catching the big fish if you can’t get it home and show it off. With our help, your “bragging rights” are safe. Through our friends at Cedars Lodge, for an additional cost, your fish can be professionally filleted, processed, vacuum-sealed, and shipped right to your home, arriving on any day you select! Fire up the grill and invite the neighbors to eat what you caught on your Alaskan adventure!
Please know Fish & Game regulations sometimes change.
Both state and federal regulations may have emergency orders in place concerning size, limit, or catch & release.
Licenses may be purchased online here before your trip or right on the charter boat on the day of your trip for cash only.
Your Captain for your fishing charter will be waiting for you at the reserved time.
Ward Cove Mill: Please proceed to the Mill at Ward Cove welcome center and take the shuttle into Ketchikan. Your representative will meet you where the shuttle drops you off in Ketchikan holding a sign of Ketchikan Charter Boats and your last name.
Ketchikan Dock: When you go ashore in Ketchikan, your Captian will meet you at the bottom of the ship’s gangway, or please proceed up the ramp if you are at water level. Your representative will be holding a sign of Ketchikan Charter Boats and your last name.
If your ship arrives when the tour departs, it is essential that you be waiting at the gangway, ready to disembark as soon as the ramp of the vessel is open. DO NOT wait in your cabin or a public area for a general announcement. These are often done 15 to 20 minutes after the ship has cleared.
Location for in-town guests: We are located on the dock at 131 Front st Booth #19. Most Hotels have Courtesy Shuttles. We recommend being in our office 15 minutes before the departure time.
These guys know what they are doing. We each caught 2 fish and had many others get off. And he said the fishing was very slow.

We caught eight salmon with Captain Dan. He was helpful because some of us have never been fishing before. If you are in Ketchikan, it is something that you must do.
